Description
The Octagon Tile System is designed to create a structured, geometric layout that brings balance, rhythm, and timeless appeal to any space. With its distinctive shape and classic pattern formation, this range is ideal for feature floors, patios, bathrooms, and statement interiors.
Unlike standard tiles, the Octagon system is installed using both octagon tiles and square spacer tiles, forming a precise and visually striking layout.
Each tile is hand cast using cement, sand, and stone (not fired clay), resulting in natural variation and a rich, handcrafted finish that adds depth and authenticity to every installation.
Colour Range
Available in our full Africotta signature palette:
Molopo, Limpopo, Tobacco, Charcoal, African Ash, Sandstone, Terracotta, African Stone, Thuthu, and Senegal.
Finish Options
Tiles can be enhanced using a natural oiling process (50/50 boiled linseed oil and turpentine), allowing for:
- soft natural tones
- mid-depth earthy finishes
- rich, darker variations with added depth
Tile System
The Octagon range is made up of two components:
Octagon Tile
The primary shape that defines the pattern and visual structure.
Square Spacer Tile
100 × 100 mm
Used between octagons to create spacing and complete the pattern.
Coverage & Layout
Per m² layout includes:
- 16 Octagon tiles
- 32 Square spacer tiles (100 × 100 mm)
This combination forms the classic octagon pattern grid.

Material & Craftsmanship
Africotta tiles are made from cement, sand, and stone (not fired clay) and are hand cast in moulds rather than baked.
